ShowShelf ("we", "us") respects your privacy. We built this app to help you track movies, not to track you. This policy explains what data we handle and why.

1. Data We Do Not Collect

We believe in data minimization. Therefore:

• We do not create user profiles.
• We do not track your browsing history across other sites.
• We do not sell data to advertisers.

2. Data That Stays on Your Device

Your Watchlist

The movies you save are stored locally on your device using browser "Local Storage." This data never reaches our servers. If you clear your browser cache, this data is deleted.

3. Data Shared with Third Parties

The Movie Database (TMDB)

When you search for a movie or view details, your browser connects directly to the TMDB API. They may receive your IP address to fulfill the request. We use their data to show you posters and plot summaries.

Netlify

Our site is hosted on Netlify. If you use our "Feedback" form, the text you write (and your email, if provided) is processed by Netlify so we can read it.

4. Cookies

We do not use invasive tracking cookies (like Google Analytics or Facebook Pixels). We use essential local storage to remember your preferences (like your watchlist).
